GOP front-runner Mitt Romney sustained a possible setback today with a public release of a little-known report that is believed to be the entire opposition research file that Sen. John McCain’s campaign compiled against him during the 2008 presidential race.

The 200-page report, which was publicized on the Buzzfeed social media website on Tuesday, had been available on a site geared to small businesses since Nov. 11 under the heading, “The Romney Book.”

The document had received nearly 180,000 views as of this afternoon — a big jump from the fewer than 100 people who appear to have viewed it before this week.

McCain and his former presidential campaign staffers have not authenticated the document — and such an authentication is not likely based on the Arizona senator’s endorsement of former Massachusetts Gov. Romney, reports The Daily Caller.
