President Barack Obama ran unopposed in Tuesday’s Democratic primary in Kentucky, but he still failed to win even 60 percent of the vote — with 42 percent of the ballots cast for “uncommitted.”
The incumbent didn’t fare much better in the Arkansas primary, winning just 59 percent of the vote, Politico reported. His opponent John Wolfe, an attorney whose platform includes repealing Obamacare, got 41 percent of the vote and even won several counties.
Obama lost 68 of 120 counties in Kentucky and 35 out of 75 counties in Arkansas.
Earlier this month Democratic voters in West Virginia cast 43 percent of their primary ballots for Keith Judd, a convicted felon currently serving prison time in Texas.
Politico observed: “Republicans seized on Obama losing a handful of counties in West Virginia, pointing to it as proof that even Democrats aren’t happy with the incumbent.”
