The Republican presidential primary race will get going in earnest during the next couple weeks, according to Politico.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels has said he will make an announcement about whether he’ll run after the state’s legislative session ends — now scheduled for April 29. Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says he’ll make his decision by the end of the month.

Buddy Roemer are scheduled to appear. Barbour, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are maybes. Gingrich is expected to issue a formal declaration of his candidacy at the beginning of May.
