Florida pro-life leader John Stemberger endorsed Rick Perry as the Republican candidate for president on Tuesday, giving the Texas governor a strong conservative voice in a vital state.

Stemberger, chairman of the Florida Family Policy Council, will serve as statewide co-chairman of Perry’s Presidency 5 team in the state.

“We will use the relationships we have built with hundreds of grass-roots activists all across this state and work toward victory for Rick Perry in Florida,” Stemberger pledged. “Governor Perry is both an economic conservative and a social conservative that we can trust.

“His straightforward message and energy will resonate with Floridians whose pocketbooks and morale are at an all time low because of Obama¹s failed policies.

“Most importantly, social conservatives can rely on Perry to lead on the core the issues of life, marriage and religious liberty,” Stemberger said.

Perry’s other statewide co-chairman for Presidency 5, a series of events that include a candidate debate and a straw poll that starts on Thursday, is Florida House Speaker Dean Cannon.
