Bachmann: It’s Time to Take Away PP’s Aid

Many Republicans seek to remove federal financial support for Planned Parenthood, and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., echoes the call. On Thursday night she urged members of the House to support an amendment eliminating federal funding for the group, The Hill reports.

bachmann, planned, parenthood, aidShe and other Republicans say Planned Parenthood is the nation's biggest abortion provider. "This year, more than any other year, we need to completely defund Planned Parenthood and begin a process to end the tax-exempt status of this now-profit seeking, political seeking organization," Bachmann said on the House floor.

"What we're seeing today is that Planned Parenthood is focused on political activity, and they're focused on becoming big business. When you have the executive director of Planned Parenthood in Illinois saying they want to become the LensCrafters of big abortion, I think we should listen to them.”
