Legislation on both the federal and state level along with increasingly sophisticated technology is helping the pro-life movement achieve its goal to "end abortion in America," Susan B. Anthony List Deputy Director Billy Valentine said Thursday.
As the international campaign of prayer and fasting for the unborn and their mothers known as "40 Days for Life" was underway in 501 cities, Valentine told "The Steve Malzberg Show" the anti-abortion movement is gaining strength and credibility.

"Technology and science [are] on our side," he said. "It's only going to advance and it's only going to change more hearts and . . . we're going to win this fight and we're going to end abortion in America."
He pointed to events at both the federal and state level that have energized the pro-life fight.
"This past summer, in the House of Representatives, there was a vote on a bill that would save babies at 20 weeks based on their ability to feel excruciating pain," he said. "And that bill passed . . . It saves an entire class of unborn children . . .The next step is getting that introduced in the Senate."
On the state level, he said, "over 177 pro-life laws have been passed in just the past three years."
"And you compare that to the previous three years and there were 49 pro-life laws passed . . . So you combine what's happening at the federal level and at the state level when you have pro-life leaders elected and ... with what 40 Days for Life is doing, you have a recipe for victory. We're going to win this fight."
