Democrat Hahn, Federalist's Harsanyi Spar Over Obama's Imprint

The gloves came off as Democrat strategist Chris Hahn and David Harsanyi, a senior editor at The Federalist, joined "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Friday to debate the nation's future under President Barack Obama.

"We are developing a society that takes care of its own. We're developing a society where people can be intellectually stimulated and not get job locked just so that they can have health insurance," Hahn argued.

Story continues below video.

"Now they have portability, they can go out, they can buy it from the [Affordable Care Act] exchange, and they don't have to be a slave to somebody just so that they have healthcare.

"So if they get a broken arm, they don't have to become bankrupt. That's a good thing in America. It's great if one parent can stay home and raise their kid. It's great if you take an early retirement and not have to work just until you get Medicare. It's great."

But Harsanyi, author of the upcoming book, "The People Have Spoken (and They Are Wrong): The Case Against Democracy," countered:

"I want people to stay home with their kids if they can and I want health insurance to be less expensive, but there are other ways to go about it.

"You're making it sound like without Obamacare none of that can ever get it done — which is simply false."
