"Bridge-gate," the ongoing scandal about politically motivated lane closures on the George Washington Bridge last fall, keeps dogging New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
But the real scandal, says freelance journalist Janet Levy, should be Christie's ties to members of New Jersey's Muslim community who Levy says have terrorist connections.
Levy wrote a long piece on the topic for American Thinker
in January, and she discussed her concerns Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
Story continues below video.
Levy said building bridges with the Muslim community is hindered by the Muslim practice of Taqiyya, which Levy said allows believers to lie to non-practitioners of Islam in order to advance the religion.
"That's very, very difficult for us in our truth-oriented society to deal with, the fact that somebody may be purposely deceiving us," she said.
Levy said Christie has forged the bonds that he has in order to win the votes of New Jersey's Muslim constituents.
