Collisions at home plate have no place in baseball, according to sportscaster Jared Max, a former host on 1050-ESPN in New York.

"I enjoy a good hockey fight. I find it entertaining. If they want to allow these guys to get some aggression out and knock the snot out of them, fine, whatever, that's how that goes," Max told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Story continues below video.

"[It's a] different story here as it goes on with baseball. There's no place for home-plate collisions in baseball."

He recalled the serious injury suffered by Buster Posey in 2011, when the San Francisco Giants catcher collided with Florida Marlins' Scott Cousins. Posey was out for nearly a year.

"Where does this have anything to do with baseball?" Max asked.

"It's not a contact sport … It's that simple."
