MSNBC should make host Chris Matthews apologize for joking that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie crushes his wife during sex, says Noel Sheppard, associate editor of the media watchdog site Newsbusters.
"This is infantile. I'm not even sure this would have been funny in kindergarten … Laughing about a guy crushing his wife," Sheppard told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"This is crude and disgusting and … I hope that Chris Matthews is going to be forced to apologize for this," Sheppard said.
Matthews, host of the nightly talk show "Hardball with Chris Matthews," joked about Christie's sex life during a conversation with Philadelphia magazine editor Tom McGrath.
McGrath was preparing to ask Matthews about the chances of the portly politician, who easily won a second term Tuesday as the Garden State's top lawmaker, becoming the GOP's presidential nominee in 2016.
"Two days after Election Day, Chris Christie has crushed his opponent. Is he gonna be the Republican ..." McGrath said in his setup.
"The one I feel for is his wife," Matthews interjected cheekily.
"Why's that?" responded McGrath.
"Did you just say crush?" Matthews shot back. "I mean … use your imagination."
"What's amazing here is the guy's done something about [his weight]," said Sheppard, referring to Christie's dramatic weight loss over the past year.
"He's probably lost, I mean he hasn't given the numbers out, but you got to figure he's conceivably down 50 pounds?"
