The Obama administration's "lawlessness" is to blame for the warehousing of hundreds of illegal-immigrant children along the Arizona-Mexico border, says Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.
Fitton told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV that a Judicial Watch investigation found that immigrants are told that if they make it across the border, they are basically home free.
'They're telling [them], 'You get across the border, you may be in a camp for three or four months, but then [we'll] send you to your family. And if your family is there in the U.S. already, you'll be sent to them,'' said Fitton, whose non-partisan foundation promotes accountability and integrity in government.
"It's this lawlessness that is causing this massive influx that is overwhelming our system,'' he said Wednesday.

The crisis has mushroomed in recent weeks as hundreds of immigrant children from Mexico and Central America — apprehended as they crossed the U.S. border — have been warehoused in the Arizona border city of Nogales.
But Fitton noted that the crisis transcends just border towns.
"Every town is a border town when it comes to illegal immigration. The administration is sending these illegal aliens, dumping them in Arizona from Texas, they're moving them into Oklahoma. They're even moving them up here to Maryland,'' he said.
"There's no part of the country that's not going to be impacted by this humanitarian crisis. These are the sorts of stories we're used to reading about in refugee camps in Syria and Iraq or in Afghanistan. Now we have it on [our] border thanks to the president's lawlessness.''
Fitton — author of "The Corruption Chronicles: Obama's Big Secrecy, Big Corruption, and Big Government,"
published by Threshold Editions — said lawmakers must share some of the blame.
"Frankly, Republican senators and congressman who have allowed him to get away with this lawlessness are partly responsible for this,'' he said.
"They've allowed it to go on . . . [The immigrants] know if you get here you have a virtually zero chance of being removed if you make it into the interior of the United States," Fitton said.
"There is no way they can grant amnesty to people here illegally and tell folks on the other side of the border, don't come here because you're not going to get it . . . that's not a credible argument to these people. They're not stupid. They weren't born yesterday.''
