Republicans will go out of their way to avoid another government shutdown in the coming budget talks because they don't want to be saddled with blame, says Susan Ferrechio, chief congressional correspondent for The Washington Examiner.

"But they're to blame no matter what they do, whoever's fault it is. Everyone blames the Republicans even though it's probably both parties' fault. So, they want to avoid that."
The government shutdown, which cost the nation billions of dollars earlier this year, was a public relations disaster for Republicans, even though they said President Barack Obama had refused to negotiate a deal.
