A top British climate expert says the Obama administration is in the pocket of the green movement in its ongoing push to penalize coal production because of the purported danger of global warming.
"What is amazing is that the Democrat president is taking such hostile action to blue-collar workers, and coal miners in particular. I mean, it does show the transformation of politics on the left," Rupert Darwall told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"It's gone from representing working people to becoming a green movement essentially in the pockets of some very large donors apparently," he said Monday.

Darwall, an economist and author of "The Age of Global Warming,"
says it is "utterly absurd" to say climate science is absolute.
"The only thing that will settle it is, you have to wait for nature to produce results," he said. "And what is extraordinary about this is how few scientists have changed their minds as the evidence has changed. I think you could almost count them on one hand."
Darwall said the divergence between what climate models have predicted temperatures will be and what the Earth's climate is actually doing is growing wider and wider.
"What you don't hear from scientists, they never tell you, 'well, by 20-whenever if temperatures haven't popped back up to where we thought they would be, we have to change what we think about this,'" he said. "That's one message that you very rarely hear from any climate scientist."
