President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden should resign from office, along with the heads of the House and Senate, to make way for a new, effective leadership team, retired U.S. Army Major General Paul Vallely says.
"Nothing happens positive anymore for our government. They can't seem to do anything right. And that goes back . . . to inept people within our government — a tangled bureaucracy government; way too big, way too complicated," Vallely told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"So, we're asking a new leadership team be put into government. We're asking that Obama and Biden resign. We're asking that [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid, [House Speaker] John Boehner, [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell, [and House Minority Leader] Nancy Pelosi resign out of their positions," Vallely said Wednesday.
The purpose of those resignations would be to inject fresh political blood onto Capitol Hill, said Vallely, chairman of the think tank Stand Up America.
"[Let's get] new leaders moved up here that we can do under the Constitution, and get people working for this government again that are effective. We've got to do something," he said. "We know impeachment won't work because of the partisan politics."
Vallely was not impressed at the awarding of the Medal of Freedom on Wednesday to former President Bill Clinton and talk show queen and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
"Clinton and Oprah Winfrey have been recognized enough. They don't need any more recognition," Vallely said.
