Michael Sam and his boyfriend Vito Cammisano shared a passionate kiss and fed each other cake on live TV to celebrate Sam being drafted by the NFL — but whether it was appropriate is the subject of debate.
Newsmax TV's Steve Malzberg discussed the issue with National Review A.J. Delgado and C. Edmund Wright, a columnist for Breitbart.com and American Thinker.
"What Michael Sam and his little boyfriend did with the cake, I mean not only was the disgusting … I don't even want to see [quarterback Tom] Brady and Gisele [Bündchen] do that, let alone these two," Wright said.
"That was clearly an in-your-face gay-marriage-type promotion there. I mean when do we see people put cake on their face like that? At a wedding reception.
"There was a direct political statement made there and the great sports network people have yet to figure that out."

Delgado said she was taken aback at the kiss because it was viewed by young sports fans who may have been confused about why two men were being intimate on a cable sports network.
"It's great that Michael Sam is proud of his sexuality and doesn't feel the need to hide it, but it's a whole other thing to flaunt it while children may be watching,'' she said.
"Purely for the fact that now parents have to explain to their child, well, why were two men kissing on national TV? You know, a 7-year-old and 8-year-old. Certainly they should keep that in mind."
