The Obama administration and Democrats in general don't seem to understand the nature of the war on terror, which has led to the problems we are facing today in Iraq and elsewhere, says political commentator Jimmy LaSalvia.
"Here's the reality, and it's something that the Obama administration and Democrats haven't gotten the message — that the war on terror is different," LaSalvia told Ed Berliner on "MidPoint" on Newsmax TV
"We're not talking about the centuries-old conflict, we're talking about terror groups who want to build their organizations in that part of the world and then attack us here, and that's the difference, that's our interest," he said.

LaSalvia explained that it's important the United States address the problem in Iraq, whether that means airstrikes or other methods "to keep them from gaining a foothold in any more than they already have," even if "we have to do it ad infinitum" because that "is the reality that we're living in today."
Democratic strategist Ben Wikler told Newsmax that the last thing the United States should do is drop bombs, or "we'll get the same kind of result that we've had for the last three decades . . . which is more war, more conflict, and more mess."
