Civil-rights lawyer Gloria Allred is guilty of "feminist narcissism" in saying California shooter Elliot Rodger was a male chauvinist, which she calls a mental illness, says Heather Mac Donald, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute.

"It's extraordinary. The next step is going to be just being male is a mental disorder. That's where we're heading here,'' Mac Donald told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"The male sex drive is being criminalized. This has nothing to do with the shootings, which are obviously heinous and tragic and an absolute unbearable loss for the victims' families and their friends,'' she said Monday.

Mac Donald said Rodger's killing spree -- in which, reportedly upset that he was having no luck with women, he murdered six people and injured 12 others near the University of California in Santa Barbara -- occurred because Rodger was insane.

"This is not a sexist country. Women have endless opportunity. What this really shows is the feminist narcissism in thinking that everything is about them,'' Mac Donald said.

"What we're seeing again and again is the reimportation of the Victorian ethos of the wilting fragile female by feminists.''
