Bernard Kerik: Las Vegas Shooter 'Didn't Snap'

(Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live")

The Las Vegas shooting was "premeditated . . . strategic," former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

"A lot of people say, 'Well, this guy just snapped, and that's why he did what he did,'" Kerik, who commanded the city's forces in the 9/11 attacks, told host Miranda Khan on "America Talks Live." "I would disagree with that.

"This guy didn't snap," he said of Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada. "This guy came into the hotel on the 28th of September and had three-and-a-half days before he went on a rampage.

"This was premeditated. This was planned out. It was strategic.

"He had to work on getting those weapons and ammunitions into that room."

Police found 23 guns in Paddock's room in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino after he had shot himself to death.

They later found five handguns and two shotguns in a search of his second home in Reno, Nevada.

"This was a planned-out attack," Kerik told Khan. "For people that say, 'Well he just snapped and he went off,' I would strongly disagree."
