Michael Reagan: Obama Shows Feelings Toward Military

By Courtney Coren   |   Monday, 25 Aug 2014 01:38 PM

President Barack Obama sent no White House aides to the funeral of Gen. Harold Greene, the highest ranking general to be killed in action overseas since the Vietnam War, which shows how he feels about the military, says political commentator Michael Reagan.

"You see how he feels about the military in general," Reagan said on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Monday.

"You have three White House people at Michael Brown's funeral, no White House people at the funeral of Maj. Gen. Greene," he said.

Reagan said that the problem is that everything for Obama is "about politics" and he forgets that he's supposed to lead all Americans.

"The president of the United States is the president of all the people," he said. "He's not president of blacks, he's not president of whites, he's not president of Chinese — he's the president of the United States — of all of her people."

Reagan said Obama "just doesn't know how" to lead.

"The world is looking to America to lead," Reagan said. "The Brits aren't going to lead, they look to America to lead, and when we lead they will come along side and they will follow, as will other people."

In the end, Obama cares too much if people like him and forgets that he's supposed to lead, Reagan said.

"President Obama has to stop trying to be everybody's friend and be the commander-in-chief," the son of former President Ronald Reagan added.

Reagan said Obama "wants to go into Syria, but he wants the American people to rise up to force him to do it so he can blame it on America and others."

"That's not leadership, that's leading from behind, which he is very used to."
