The federal government must stop the racial and economic "micro-engineering'' of local communities, according to U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, who has introduced legislation to stop HUD and the White House from using the Fair Housing Act to wage a "war on the suburbs."
They are "trying to racially profile and income profile … our local communities — micromanaging and dictating where and when we can build and live in our local communities,'' Gosar told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"I don’t want any of the funds that would be utilized … to actually dictate and implement their utopian-type views."

"It’s the overreach of the federal government. People are sick and tired of the government telling us what we can do, when we can do, and how much money we can make.''
Gosar, a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said President Barack Obama has repeatedly spelled out his plans for government overreach.
"You heard the president say … we shouldn't live to have expectations to living up to our dreams, to making some money. We should be happy with what we get from the federal government,'' he said.
"That's not the America that I grew up in, and that's not the America I want … That's the vision of this administration, to … limit our choices and opportunity.''
Gosar said the government's overreach smacks of racially profiling, which has been illegal for decades.
"We as community [should] stand up across this country and say, 'No more. We can't have this, we won't allow this to happen, and we're prepared to take you to court, and that's where we'll resolve this,'' he said.
Gosar's legislation is co-sponsored by U.S. Sen. Mike Lee of Utah.
"We have to be on our due diligence on making sure that the feds comply to the will of the people and to the Constitution,'' Gosar said.
