Conservative Blogger Rothman: Holder's Ferguson Visit a Good Move

Attorney General Eric Holder's trip to Ferguson, Missouri — where rioting broke out after the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white cop — was a positive move, says Noah Rothman, associate editor of the conservative news blog HotAir.com.

"It did a significant amount of good when it comes to assuaging the concerns of the local population that there was going to be justice done in this case," Rothman told Ben Swann, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"We are seeing at least some confidence among the local population that this will be adjudicated by federal officials."

Michael Brown, 18, was killed during a confrontation with Officer Darren Wilson — a tragedy that triggered more than a week of rioting and looting in the predominantly African-American city of 21,000.

The storm of racial tension in Ferguson has eased over the past two days.
