Hamas has threatened news reporters covering its war with Israel in Gaza — and has gotten some of them to slant their coverage in favor of the Palestinian terrorist group, says Lori Lowenthal Marcus, founder of the pro-Israel blog Z Street.

"Some of these reporters we know are being threatened,'' Marcus, who is also the U.S. correspondent for The Jewish Press, said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"It is very scary to be threatened, but heck, if you're going to be afraid of that, you shouldn't be [there].

"People are very reluctant in this part of the world to do anything that will antagonize [these] murderers and terrorists, with good reason. But again, if you're going to be terrorized and compromised, you should not be in that position.''

Marcus did not name names during her interview with Steve Malzberg, but said she would provide him with examples of the slanted coverage.

Her charge comes amid growing concern that the mainstream media has been overly critical of Israel as the Jewish state defends itself against fierce rocket attacks launched by Hamas.

Marcus' group, Z Street, has been in the news in recent months, alleging that the IRS targeted Z Street just as it is accused of targeting tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status.
