Ken Timmerman: WH Hiding True Cause of Amb. Stevens' Death

The Obama administration is covering up the true cause of death of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, who perished with three other Americans in the Benghazi attack, according to Kenneth Timmerman, executive director of the Foundation for Democracy.

"The U.S. government knows the truth about how he died and it's suspicious to me that they never released his autopsy,'' Timmerman told "The Steve Malzberg Show'' on Newsmax TV.

"In fact, I was told they never even did an autopsy,'' he said.

Timmerman is author of the new book "Dark Forces: The Truth About What Happened in Benghazi,'' published by Broadside Books.

Rumors have swirled about the injuries sustained by Stevens, who officials insist died of smoke inhalation.

Blood was spotted in the bathroom of the American diplomatic mission where the attack took place on Sept. 11, 2012, and a video depicts Stevens, with blood on his head, being dragged out of the mission by young men, not by jihadists as first believed.

"These were kids basically, young men who were in the neighborhood. They were in designer jeans. They were what I call war tourists,'' Timmerman said.

His book presents a minute-by-minute re-enactment of the attack:

"The attack unfolded that night at 9:41 p.m. There was nobody in front of the embassy, at 9:42 p.m. they blew open the gates and … a couple of minutes later [used] bazookas,'' he said.

Timmerman believes more investigating must be done on the Obama administration's initial claim that the attack was the result of an anti-Islamic video, a theory later discounted.

"We need to get the emails, the internal exchanges in [former Secretary of State] Hillary Clinton's office,'' he said.

"Here's what we do know — we know that Hillary Clinton and President [Barack] Obama had a phone call at 10 o'clock at night, Washington time.

"Eight minutes later Mrs. Clinton puts out a statement from the State Department blaming it on the video … They were getting their ducks in a row. She had pretty much already decided what she was going to say and was clearing it with the president.''

Timmerman agrees with military observers that the truth behind Benghazi was covered up because Stevens and others were involved in a covert CIA arms deal.

"It's pretty astonishing because it involved stinger missiles and later they're taking weapons out of Benghazi to get them to Syria,'' he said.

"They take them by boat up to Turkey … especially the surface-to-air missiles … over land into Niger in Africa and out through Suez and elsewhere.

"One of them was used to shoot down a U.S. helicopter in Afghanistan in July 2012 — that's where the scandal really began, and that's why they had to cover up what was going on,'' Timmerman said.
