President Donald Trump's former chief strategist Stephen Bannon is reportedly heading back to Hollywood and the movie business – and is interested in making Westerns.

According to the Post's "Page Six" column, Bannon, who resumed his job as executive chairman of Breitbart News after leaving the White House last month, had been taking meetings with movie companies.

Bannon's Independent Movie Database profile lists that, in the 1990s, he was a producer on the movies "Titus" with Anthony Hopkins and "The Indian Runner," starring Viggo Mortensen and Patricia Arquette. He also made "The Steam Experiment" in 2009, starring Val Kilmer, Armand Assante, and Eric Roberts.

Otherwise, his film credits have largely been as executive producer on a number of documentaries, including "In the Face of Evil: Reagan's War in Word and Deed" in 2004.

Bannon's Hollywood writing career was pilloried by George Clooney, who called him a "failed" screenwriter, and one unnamed source mocked Bannon's supposed Western movie ambition.

"The Western thing actually makes sense when you consider his strategy with Trump," the source told Page Six. "Maybe [Bannon] thinks there's an untapped market for movies about John Wayne-style alpha males."
