President Barack Obama and the Democrats know that the economic policies of the Reagan era work and he is aligning himself with the former president’s policies in order to win re-election, said talk radio host Rush Limbaugh.

“If [the Democrats] are going to win re-election, they have to somehow associate one of the most popular, respected, beloved presidents ever with their perverted, obscene, destructive policies,” Limbaugh said Wednesday.

“[Obama] knows . . . that trickle-down economics works. They all know that Reaganomics works that’s why they’re invoking it. They all know that tax cuts work that’s why they oppose it because what’s good for America is bad for them and their political party.”

Limbaugh said that Obama believes our Founding Fathers were the equivalent of the one percent and that they created a system that would ensure their own opportunities, freedoms, and economic prosperity which has never worked in the last 200 plus years.

“Obama is coming from the standpoint that this country was founded unjustly and immorally by the equivalent of the 1 percent back in the 1700s,” said Limbaugh.

“Our Founding Fathers were the equivalent of Warren Buffet and Bill Gates back then. They structured a country that saw to it that only they would have the opportunities for freedom and economic prosperity and so forth. Nobody else would. They rigged the system and it never worked . . . The last 200 plus years haven’t worked.”

Given that this is an election year, Limbaugh said the Obama administration could never admit to these beliefs so, instead, they are trying to cozy up to some of former President Reagan’s policies.

“Obama knows he can’t be honest about that. He will not win a thing. He will lose in a landslide so it’s time to invoke Reagan,” Limbaugh said.

The Democrats “know full well that what they heartily, truthfully believe would be rejected in landslide proportions if they were to be honest about it.”

The only way we can win this election, Limbaugh said, is with “the constant focus on the failure of Barack Obama.”
