Sen. Rand Paul says The White House, Capitol buildings, and key U.S. cities should build their own versions of Israel's Iron Dome to defend them from missile attacks, BuzzFeed reports
"I saw presentations of the Iron Dome and it was very impressive … [I am] absolutely in favor of it," Paul told reporters in a conference call after touring Israel and Jordan.
"There's no reason why our White House, our Capitol, and major cities shouldn't have missile defense.’’

Paul met with Benjamin Netanyahu, Shimon Peres, Mahmoud Abbas, and the king of Jordan during his trip, which BuzzFeed says is being interpreted as “a kind of olive branch to the more hawkish elements of his party.’’
Paul, who is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said, "While I want to be a strong ally with Israel, that doesn't mean they can get a blank check either."
The Kentucky lawmaker also criticized President Barack Obama's reported private comment that "Israel doesn't know what its own best interests are, calling the remark "an arrogant and presumptuous point of view.’’
