Newsmax magazine has once again won a prestigious Gold Eddie, an award that Folio magazine presents for editorial and design excellence in print magazines. Folio recognized Newsmax for its September 2011 cover feature “9/11 – Ten Years Later.”

In this special 38-page section, Newsmax turned to a team of experts — New York’s legendary Mayor Rudy Giuliani, veteran commentator Pat Buchanan, counterterrorism expert Frank Gaffney, national security writer Judith Miller, and former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, among others — to evaluate that awful day, the nation’s response, and how we should prepare for new threats on the horizon.

Newsmax won the Eddie in the category "Consumer>>News/Commentary/General Interest>>Full Issue." The award was presented at a Wednesday luncheon in New York sponsored by Folio.

“We’re thrilled to again be recognized with this prestigious award,” said Christopher Ruddy, president and CEO of Newsmax. “We are extremely proud and honored.”

And Ken Chandler, editor in chief of Newsmax magazine, said: “This award is a great tribute to our writers and entire staff. It reflects the quality that we strive for with each issue of Newsmax.”

This marks the second time Newsmax magazine has won a Gold Eddie. Back in January 2011, Folio recognized Newsmax for its January 2010 cover feature article “Obama Hates Fox News: The President Goes Fox Hunting,” and honored Newsmax in the Single Article category.

And in 2005, Newsmax magazine received a Silver Eddie from Folio in the category of News Coverage.

Earlier this year Newsmax magazine was also honored by the Florida Magazine Association (FMA), which bestowed five Charlie Awards — its highest honor — to Newsmax.

The FMA, the largest state magazine association in the nation, recognizes industry publications that have had significant impact for readers.

Newsmax won top honors in the categories Best In-Depth Reporting, Best Department, Best Column, Best Feature Design, and Best Illustration.

Newsmax is the monthly print and digital magazine published by Newsmax Media, headquartered in West Palm Beach, Fla. Newsmax magazine began publishing in 2001 and has remained one of the country’s fast-growing publications with approximately one million monthly readers.

Each month, more than 10 million Americans visit Newsmax.com and its affiliated websites online.
