Mitch McConnell Tweets Obama on Having a Drink

President Barack Obama joked during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday that he had no desire to have a drink with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

In fact, he suggested to people trying to get him to spend more time with Congress, “Really? Why don’t you get a drink with Mitch McConnell?”

McConnell, R-Ky., took it all in good cheer. His re-election Twitter account sent out a picture of McConnell sitting next to an empty chair at a bar in Hazard, Ky., with a glass of beer with the message, “@BarackObama @Eastwood_ Greetings from coal country! Hazard, KY -MM pic.twitter.com/6IgV6sEL8j”

The Clint Eastwood reference appeared to refer to McConnell sitting next to an emtpy chair, reminiscent of Eastwood's empty chair speech at the Republican National Convention last fall.
