First Lady Laura Bush is likely to make her last visit on Tuesday to the United Nations headquarters in New York City before the November elections.

Problem is, some U.N. officials say they didn’t know about it.

"We heard rumors that she may be coming, but no confirmation," said Anne Siddall, an assistant in the U.N. press office.

When Newsmax queried U.N. spokeswoman Michelle Montas Friday about the visit, she offered no reply. Even when Montas was e-mailed a copy of an announcement about the pending visit from the first lady's office, there was no comment.

But according to the White House, Mrs. Bush will deliver comments on the U.N.’s Literacy Decade Mid-Decade Review Report.

Meanwhile, the U.N. canceled a news conference on the review slated for Monday with no explanation.

President Bush made his final official visit to the U.N. when he addressed the General Assembly Sept. 23.
