Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will strongly refute the liberal agenda that President Barack Obama laid out at his inauguration Monday in a speech to the Republican National Committee Thursday evening, arguing that the GOP must position itself as the party of growth.

“The Democrats promise to be the party of “more from government,” but they are actually the party of less,” Jindal will tell the RNC members at the Winter Meeting in Charlotte, N.C., according to excerpts from the Governor’s speech provided to Newsmax.

“They are the party of economic contraction, austerity and less from the economy. The Republican Party is the party of “more,” the party that creates “more from the economy.”

Jindal will call on his fellow Republicans to “recalibrate the compass of conservatism” as it rebuilds itself after losses at the polls in November.

“We do not need to change what we believe as conservatives – our principles are timeless. But we do need to re-orient our focus to the place where conservatism thrives – in the real world beyond the Washington Beltway.”

In the speech, Jindal will urge his party to focus less on political infighting and more on economic expansion.

“Instead of worrying about managing government, it’s time for us to address how we can lead America… to a place where she can once again become the land of opportunity, where she can once again become a place of growth and opportunity. We should put all our eggs in that basket,” he is expected to say.

“Our objective is to grow the private sector. We need to focus our efforts on ideas to grow the American economy, not the government economy. If you take nothing else away from what I say today, please understand this – We must not become the party of austerity. We must become the party of growth.”

America is not the federal government, Jindal will tell the RNC. “The Republican party must become . . . the party of a prosperous future that is based in our economic growth and opportunity that is based in every community in this great country and that is not based in Washington, DC.”

Jindal is already practicing what he soon will preach, bringing economic reform initiates to the state level. Earlier this month, he called for an end to Louisiana’s state income and corporate taxes, with sales taxes making up for lost revenue.

There is room for other solidly Republican states to follow his lead. Louisiana is one of 24 states where the GOP controls both the governorship and legislatures, while Democrats have single-party control in 13 states.

If conservatives can show that their agenda is the right path to economic prosperity, that would bode well for 2016, when Jindal is expected to seek the Republican presidential nomination.
