House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa on Friday attacked Sen. John Kerry, for criticizing Congress for the budget deficit at his confirmation hearing for secretary of State Thursday.
“As we work to help other countries create order, the first priority would be that America at last puts its own fiscal house in order,” Kerry said.
But the California Republican, appearing on "
Fox and Friends," responded, “Sen. Kerry is basically talking about something he is in fact an architect of."

Should Kerry and Hagel Be Confirmed?
He compared Kerry figuratively to the notorious Menendez brothers, who are in jail for killing their parents.
"It's a little bit like somebody killing their parents and then claiming to be an orphan," Issa said. "He certainly has had an opportunity to bring forward a budget or bring up the Ryan budget. He's been in a leadership position. He's leaving the Senate without fiscal responsibility. They are the ones that haven't passed a budget in over 1,000 days and counting."
The Senate hasn’t offered the House any cooperation on formulating spending cuts, Issa said.
