George Clooney: Arguments Against Global Warming Are 'Stupid'

In the wake of the typhoon that hit the Philippines over the weekend, actor George Clooney called arguments against global warming "stupid" and "ridiculous," although he indicated he wasn't sure if climate change contributed to the monster storm that has left thousands dead.

"Well it's just a stupid argument," Clooney told reporters at the BAFTA Britannia Awards in Beverly Hills Saturday night, according to the Climate Depot website.

"If you have 99 percent of doctors who tell you 'you are sick' and one percent that says 'you're fine,' you probably want to hang out with, check it up for the 99," the Academy Award winner said. "The idea that we ignore that we are in some way involved in climate change is ridiculous. What's the worst think that happens? We clean up the earth a little bit?

"I find this to be the most ridiculous argument ever," he added, referring to skeptics who don't believe the science on global warming.
