Brent Bozell, founder and president of the Media Research Center, tells Newsmax that the Barack Obama administration is playing the media "like a violin" to promote their "new socialism."

And Bozell, who also runs Cybercast News Service, said the media for their part have "sold their soul" and become "propaganda outlets" to help Obama.

Newsmax.TV's Ashley Martella pointed out that ABC is allowing Obama and his team to advocate his healthcare reform plan on the night of June 24, while not allowing Republicans to present their own plan or permitting paid advertisements offering opposing viewpoints. He asked Bozell for his take on ABC's decision.

"Imagine this for a second: Imagine a world, say four years ago, when ABC News would go to George Bush and offer to give him two hours of national airtime to promote his war on terror, specifically the war in Iraq," Bozell said.

"And [ABC would] not allow any opposing viewpoints to what he had to say, not allow any advertising that might dispute him, give him unfettered propaganda access to the American people. Just try to imagine that craziness and then you understand how crazy this is.

"The difference is that they despised George Bush, and they've given everything they've got to see the success of Barack Obama."

Martella asked Bozell if he has ever before seen such fawning adoration of a president by the media.

"You've got a media that have devoted everything they've got, invested everything they've got — they've sold their soul, their collective soul, to see the success of Barack Obama," Bozell responded.

"People were asking me today: When will the honeymoon end? Folks, it's not going to end. They're invested to the hilt in this man."

Have the Big Three networks abandoned even the pretense of being fair? Martella asked.

"Yes," Bozell declared. "You know there's a problem when both Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather have condemned the biases in the press.

"I say this only half jokingly, but this makes you pine for the good old days of Dan Rather. What you've got today makes him look straight as an arrow by comparison . . .

"And [despite] all the biases Tom Brokaw brought to the table, he would never do this kind of thing."

Bozell added that "90, 95 percent of the press is in the tank for Barack Obama."

When asked how much biased coverage is being orchestrated by the White House and chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, Bozell said: "As much as humanly possible.

"And if I were in Rahm Emanuel's shoes, I'd do the exact same thing.

"They know they can play the media like a violin, and so they're going to do it. They're going to use every weapon in their arsenal to promote this new socialism.

"And a very powerful weapon, perhaps the most powerful weapon they've got, is a national news media that have become nothing but microphones and propaganda outlets for their political agenda."
