Allen West says he agrees with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's comment that Democrats act like women "cannot control their libido" — and the former Florida congressman adds: "The left tries to win the women's vote by talking from the waist down."

"Gov. Huckabee has no reason to apologize and if anything the Democrats should be apologizing," West told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"[He] is right. Government is trying to be the sugar daddy. Government is trying to … replace having strong male role models together with women, strong women, to have strong families, and the left just got caught guilty as always."

Story continues below video.

On Thursday, during a Republican National Committee meeting, Huckabee slammed Democrats for their charges that Republicans have waged a "war on women." He said Democrats act like women "cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of government."

He made similar remarks to Newsmax's Steve Malzberg on Monday, saying the "war on women" claims were "incredibly demeaning" to U.S. women "because women are far more than the Democrats will play them to be."

The comments were immediately attacked by Democrats and various media pundits.

"You're seeing the Democrat National Committee try to send out a fundraising notice to raise money off what he said … If you want to talk about a war on women, go to Iraq, go to Afghanistan, look at what the Taliban does," West said.

"Look at Malala Yousafzai, the young 16-year-old girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban, but yet no one on the left elevated her. She was not given the Time magazine 'Person of the Year,' she was not given a Nobel Peace Prize.

"I'm going to be very blunt, the left tries to win the women's vote by talking from the waist down. What we have to do on our side as conservatives … we have to talk to their heart and we have to talk to their mind and that's exactly what Gov. Huckabee was talking about drawing that delineation."
