Generation Opportunity, a group with ties to the Koch brothers, has produced two new video ads designed to persuade young people not to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
One of the ads shows Uncle Sam about to conduct a pelvic exam on a young woman and the other shows Uncle Sam about to administer a prostate exam on a young man.
Story continues below videos.
In the ad with the woman, a doctor instructs her to prepare for a pelvic exam. After the doctor leaves, a figure wearing a leering Uncle Sam mask, complete with a star-spangled top hat, appears to perform the exam. As the woman screams, the screen reads "Don't let government play doctor. Opt out of Obamacare."
The ad with the man has a similar plot. But in this case the doctor readies him for a prostate exam before Uncle Sam pops up, snapping a latex glove on his hand. The same text scrolls across the screen as in the other ad.
The ads were made to let young people know they don't have to buy insurance under Obamacare, Generation Opportunity President Evan Feinberg told Yahoo
"You might have to pay a fine, but that's going to be cheaper for you and better for you," he said.
The fine for young adults who decline to buy insurance is $95 in the first year and about $700 by 2016, according to The Hill
