Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe gave the keynote address last Friday at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, where he introduced the world to the “new Japanese.” And who are these beings? "These 'new Japanese,'" he explained, "are Japanese who are determined ultimately to take on the peace, order, and stability of this region as their own responsibility."
