Former New Hampshire GOP Gov. John Sununu, a Mitt Romney surrogate, was highly unimpressed by President Barack Obama’s debate performance Wednesday, calling him incompetent, lazy, and detached.

“What people saw last night was a president that revealed his incompetence, how lazy, and detached he is, and how he has absolutely no idea how serious the economic problems of the country are, and how he has failed to even to address them,” Sununu said on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” Thursday.

Mitt Romney, by contrast, “came in with a lot of specifics, a lot of very sharp knowledge of issues,” Sununu said. “The governor showed he understands policy, and he understands how to make policy into law, talking about what he did in Massachusetts.”

Sununu also called Obama lazy and detached last week in discussing the president’s handling of the killings of four Americans, including ambassador Chris Stevens in Libya last month.
