Speaking at West Point this week, President Barack Obama conveyed significantly more optimism for a "breakthrough" nuclear deal with Tehran than most experts foresee.

As a July 20 deadline nears for a comprehensive agreement with Iran, the president could be so desperate to strike a deal that he might accept dangerous concessions to achieve it.
