CAIRO — Egypt's state news agency is reporting that the country's ousted Islamist President and 24 other politicians, media personalities, activists and lawyers will be tried on charges of insulting the judiciary.

The new referral of Mohammed Morsi to trial on Sunday is the fourth court case against the president, overthrown by the military in July following days of massive protests against him. Only one trial, where Morsi is charged with inciting murder against his opponents, has opened. He is also on trial for organizing prison breaks during the 2011 uprising and on charges of conspiring with foreign militant groups to destabilize Egypt.

The new trial dates back to Morsi's time in office, when he named a judge in a public speech and accused him of overseeing fraud in previous elections.
