During last year’s off-year election in Virginia, leftist journalists made certain to harshly attack Republican Lt. Gov. candidate E. W. Jackson. He was “extreme,” “radical,” and an all-around loose cannon.
Now you’re probably asking yourself, What else is new? The MSM always attacks Republicans. But the attack here was especially brutal because Jackson was a heretic: a conservative black Republican nominated by an overwhelmingly lily-white GOP convention.
If Jackson had won, it would have sent a disastrous message to other minorities. Namely, that one can successfully escape the Democrat plantation and appeal to voters based on something besides race and redistribution.
One of Jackson’s statements that particularly offended Democrats and the MSM was when he boldly said that Planned Parenthood has been more lethal to blacks since 1973 than the Ku Klux Klan ever was.
Democrats are naturally touchy when it comes to the Klan since most of the organization’s leaders were Democrats and they would prefer to erase that fact from history. But combining the Klan with criticism of Planned Parenthood was simply too much for ideologues that equate the organization with apple pie and other revered institutions.
Which brings me to this week’s news. CNSNews.com reports that in 2012 more black babies were killed by abortion in New York City than were born. A total of 31,328 black children were killed by abortionists compared with 24,758 who were allowed to live.
When one looks at 31,328, it’s a big number, but also fairly abstract. So let’s put the figure into perspective. The number of black babies aborted in a single year in the city is over 13 times the total number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan in 10 years. In fact, the 85 black children put to death daily in New York are the equivalent of three Sandy Hook shootings each day, every day for an entire year.
Yet where is the outrage?
Black children killed in New York City comprise 42 percent of all abortions there, which is especially tragic when you consider that blacks only make up 25 percent of the total New York City population.
I’m not denying that the Klan was an evil organization and it richly deserves its hateful reputation. But I can’t help but thinking that if you’d been able to ask any of those aborted black babies if they would rather be born and denied the vote and suffer discrimination at the hands of the Klan or killed in the womb at the hands of Planned Parenthood, 100 percent of the babies would choose to be born.
Which means E. W. Jackson was right and the MSM was wrong, again.
