America’s destiny could change next Tuesday, April 22, a historic date.

Pennsylvania primary voters could select the 2008 Democratic presidential candidate, and thereby influence who will win in November and rule our nation for the next four years.

Eco-activists and indoctrinated school children on Tuesday will celebrate Earth Day, a watermelon holiday green on the outside but red inside.

Another event shaped by Hillary Clinton should make every April 22 a day of mourning for human liberty.

And, as we were reminded during Wednesday night’s Democratic candidate debate between Sens. Clinton and Barack Obama, a common red thread connects these April 22 events.

Co-interrogator during that debate was ABC News host George Stephanopoulos, who began his ascent to wealth, fame, and power as a campaign operative for Bill and Hillary Clinton.

In olden days, simple ethics would have led Stephanopoulos to recuse himself because of his past ties to one of the candidates he was to question even-handedly.

But ethics and morality died in America when President Clinton brazenly refused to resign after being caught lying under oath, losing his law license, committing sexual acts with an intern almost as young as his daughter, and being the first elected president ever impeached.

Stephanopoulos Wednesday went after Sen. Clinton’s opponent, asking Sen. Obama to explain his friendly relationship with former Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers.

“The notion that somehow, as a consequence of me knowing someone who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, that somehow reflects on my values is crazy,” replied Obama.

“What [the Weather Underground] did was set bombs,” riposted Ms. Clinton, “and in some cases people died . . .”

“President Clinton pardoned two members of the Weather Underground,” replied Obama, “which is a bigger deal than serving on a board [of a non-profit organization, as Obama did with Ayers] with someone.”

Obama never mentioned that President Clinton also pardoned Puerto Rican terrorists implicated in the murder of a police officer, apparently to win votes from New York’s 1 million Puerto Ricans for Hillary’s 2000 Senate race.

Puerto Rico’s upcoming June 1 primary might decide who wins the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.

Leftist writer Marc Cooper in the April 16 Huffington Post recounted Sen. Clinton’s 1969 work with a law firm.

This “most important radical law firm in America at that point” defended the Black Panthers and had two partners who “were members of the Communist Party,” as Hillary biographer Carl Bernstein of Woodward & Bernstein fame described it.

Democratic voters now have a choice between two extremists.

Barack Obama was a community organizer steeped in the radical tactics of Saul Alinsky. Obama has embraced a black liberation church whose retiring minister advocates radical redistribution of wealth (while a million-dollar mansion is being built for him on tax-exempt church land), racial polarization, damnation of America but praise for anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader Rev. Louis Farrakhan.

Obama has steadfastly refused to disown either this church or this minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who reportedly preached that what Israel has done to the Palestinians is “worse than what Hitler did to the Jews.”

Obama’s mentor thus apparently either disbelieves in the Holocaust or believes that Israel has committed genocide against more than 6 million Palestinians.

Hillary Clinton was a student radical close to Alinsky. She remains married to an activist who helped lead anti-American demonstrations in Europe, mysteriously visited Moscow in the Soviet Union during the dead of winter, and stayed as an honored guest in the home of the founder of the Czech Communist Party.

While chairing a tax exempt foundation, Hillary Clinton funneled tens of thousands of dollars to the Palestine Liberation Organization and its terrorist leader Yassir Arafat.

Why did Earth Day’s founders set it on April 22?

One of the self-identified "founders" of Earth Day, Bay Area activist John McConnell, has written that in 1969 he proposed to the San Francisco board of supervisors a new holiday to be called Earth Day on nature’s first day of spring, the Equinox, around March 21.

But, McConnell wrote, in 1970 local anti-Vietnam War and Environmental Teach-in activists "who were planning a one-time event for April 22, also decided to call their event Earth Day."

This "one-time event" in 1970 was the 100th birthday of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, Lenin, who overthrew the democratically-elected Russian government of Alexander Kerensky (born April 22, 1881) to create the Marxist Soviet Union.

Requests by genuine environmentalists to change Earth Day’s date — as one logically would do if a holiday had been accidentally placed on the birthday of a mass murderer and environmental despoiler such as Adolf Hitler, or Lenin — have been harshly rebuffed.

Marxism is, of course, a pagan religion whose dogma replaces capitalism with socialism, abolishes private property in the name of ecological oneness, preaches that individualism is evil and collectivism good, and enshrines the all-powerful State in place of God.

Ironically, April 22 was the date in 1864 that Congress put the words “In God We Trust” on our coinage.

On April 22, 2000, storm troopers acting on the orders of President Bill Clinton smashed down the door of a tiny house in Miami, Fla. They gun-butted two NBC pool reporters outside, smashed their camera, and warned the reporters they would be shot if they attempted to film what was going on.

The storm troopers then seized 6-year-old Elian Gonzalez, whose mother had drowned while trying to bring her son from the Communist dictatorship of Cuba to the U.S.

Under the United Nations International Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Hillary pretended to support, Elian had the right to remain with his uncle’s family in Florida. But the boy was kidnapped at gunpoint and returned by the Clintons as a propaganda prize and slave to Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

April 22 should be remembered as Elian Day, not Earth Day. And Pennsylvania voters on this day should never forget the collectivist ideology that both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama represent.
