Drew Johnson - Biography
Drew Johnson, a political commentator and government waste expert, is a senior fellow at the Taxpayers Protection Alliance.
Prior to joining the Taxpayers Protection Alliance, Johnson founded, and served as president of, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research (TCPR). Under his leadership, TCPR became one of the most innovative and effective state-focused free market think tanks in the country.
Before founding TCPR, Johnson worked as policy analyst at the National Taxpayers Union.
Johnson is known for infusing investigative reporting and policy research in order to expose government waste, corruption and hypocrisy. These efforts have made him a frequent guest on national television and radio programs. His columns and articles have appeared in scores of newspapers, magazines and scholarly journals.
Johnson is a member of the Tennessee Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He has also served on the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth and the National Ethnic and Cultural Diversity Committee of the Coalition for Juvenile Justice.
A native of Johnson City, Tenn., he is a graduate of Belmont University and holds a Masters in Public Policy from Pepperdine University.
