Iowa does not mean Trump is done. He's on favorable ground in New Hampshire and leads in practically every other state. He's in for a long fight. What Iowa confirms is that Republicans are choosing conservatism over Trumpian populism. Their chances of survival as the party of Reagan are very good.

The 2016 presidential race has turned into a contest between the populism of Donald Trump and the traditional conservatism, scorched-earth fundamentalist of Ted Cruz. Trump insists that he's a conservative, but his conservatism seems more of a rental than an ideological home.

Obama will not be submitting the climate agreement for Senate ratification. It would have no chance of passing , as with the Iranian nuclear deal, also never submitted for the Senate ratification Obama knew he'd never get.

Trump's campaign has succeeded, affecting both this race and the Republican future. Trump has managed to steer the entire GOP campaign to absurdities, like mass deportation, and the exclusion of Muslims. Once again it's the Donald Show.
