Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says it's important to capture or kill Osama bin Laden and other leaders of al-Qaida.

Clinton made the comments aired Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

A high priority was placed on capturing bin Laden after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in this country. But there was less talk about capturing the al-Qaida leader as the years dragged on. Bin Laden is believed to be living on the Pakistan side of the border with Afghanistan.

Clinton says the fight against terrorists can make "enormous progress" even without his capture.
