Donald Trump says he is “honored” by the results of a Newsmax online poll showing him to be the overwhelming favorite for president in 2012.

The ongoing poll has drawn more than 1 million responses and shows Trump crushing 11 other potential Republican presidential candidates, collecting 55 percent of the vote in a field that includes Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and New Gingrich. His closest competitor is Romney with 10 percent of the vote.

The unscientific poll also shows Trump trouncing President Obama in a head-to-head matchup.

Commenting on the poll, Trump says: “I’m honored by Newsmax. It’s a great organization. They have a tremendous following. I follow them also, and when I saw the poll results I was really happy because Newsmax represents a lot to a lot of people, including me.”
