Court Blocks Release Of Nude Photos of Woods

By John Rossomando

A British judge has blocked the release of nude photos of golfer Tiger Woods. This follows revelations earlier this week that Playgirl magazine had been approached about publishing nude photos of the scandal-plagued golfer.

Woods has been haunted by revelations of repeated marital infidelity since he crashed his car outside his Florida mansion last month. The incident prompted police to fine him $164 and the tabloid press to start digging into his personal life, which led at least 13 women to claim they had extramarital affairs with him.

The top-rated golfer apologized for “transgressions” against his family the week after the crash ? the same day US Weekly magazine published as story about Jamiee Grubbs, a 24-year-old cocktail waitress who claimed to have had a 31-month affair with Woods.

The decision made Thursday by the High Court of Justice in London warns anyone who publishes any nude photos or videos of Woods in the United Kingdom they face imprisonment or the seizure of their assets.

“For the avoidance of doubt this Order is not to be taken as an admission any photographs exist, and in the event that these photographs do exist, and it is not admitted any such images have been fabricated, altered, manipulated and or changed to create the false appearance and impression that they are nude photographs of our client,” the Schillings law firm, which represents Woods in this case wrote in a related legal brief they sent to publications throughout the U.K. “Our client is not aware of any images and in any event he would not have consented to any such photographs being taken or would he have consented to the dissemination or exploitation of the same.”
