Tea Party Express: Make Defunding Healthcare Law Part of Contract

By Dan Weil   |   Monday, 13 Sep 2010 08:30 PM

The major tea party group Tea Party Express has urged Republican leaders to include defunding of the healthcare reform law in the Republican contract slated to be released later this month, Politico reports. The Tea Party Express and DeFundit.org sent a joint letter Monday urging the idea to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.

“Therefore, a more immediate and comprehensive strategy is in order to ensure this train wreck of a law doesn’t leave the station,” the letter states. “Specifically, we are calling for the Republican Party to include defunding Obamacare as the part of your contract with citizens this fall.”
