Santorum: Profile Travelers, Including Muslims

Rick Santorum sided with profiling air travelers, including Muslims, on the basis of ethnicity and religion, during the CNN debate Tuesday night.

“We should be trying to find the bomber, not the bomb,” Santorum said. “We haven’t had this type of threat that we have in the homeland.”

The debate focused on foreign policy and American national securityl

Asked specifically about profiling, Santorum said he wants to profile those "folks who are most likely to be committing these crimes. Obviously Muslims would be someone you’d look at.”  He would not "exclusively" profile Muslims.

Rep. Ron Paul immediately responded saying, “That’s digging a hole for us. What if they look like Timothy McVeigh?”
