Palin Big Ratings Winner on Oprah

Sarah Palin's appearance on Oprah Winfrey's TV talk show on Monday gave Oprah her biggest audience in two years.

"The Oprah Winfrey Show" drew an 8.7 household rating and a 13 share, the best since the entire Osmond family appeared on the program in 2007, according to the Live Feed Web site.

The hour-long session with Palin even topped Oprah's heavily viewed interviews with Whitney Houston earlier this year.

On Oprah's show, Palin brushed aside talk about a possible campaign for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.

But when Oprah asked if Palin would tell her whether she intends to run in 2012, Palin got a laugh from the studio audience when she said, "No, I wouldn't."

Palin is on a high-profile book tour to promote her new memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life."

On Tuesday, she gave Newsmax an exclusive interview and discussed why she believes the McCain-Palin ticket lost the election in 2008.

"The economy changed under a Republican administration," she said. "People were sincerely looking for change. They were quite concerned about the road that America was on with its economy. They did not want more of the same. They did not want status quo. And I think, unfortunately, our ticket represented what was perceived as status quo."

On Thursday, three days after Oprah's interview with the former Alaska governor aired, Winfrey's production company Harpo Inc. announced that Oprah's show will end in September 2011 after 25 years on the air.
