A Newsmax story raising questions about Barack Obama’s fundraising practices got a confirmation — and a compliment — from The American Spectator’s Washington Prowler site.

In a Thursday article headlined “Obama’s Fishy $200 Million,” the Prowler disclosed that an analyst for the Federal Election Commission is urging his bosses to investigate more than $200 million in potentially illegal contributions to Obama’s presidential campaign, including “millions of dollars of illegal foreign donations.”

The analyst has reportedly also sought help from the Department of Justice and the FBI, but the requests have largely been ignored, according to The Prowler.

“I can’t get anyone to move. I believe we are looking at a hijacking of our political system,” the analyst said.

The Prowler reported: “Just as frustrating as the lack of desire on the part of his bosses to act, says the analyst, is that major media outlets have ignored the story he has been attempting to tell. Thus far, Newsmax is one of the few publications to cover the Obama campaign finance scam story.”

In the Newsmax story published on Monday, Sept. 29, correspondent Kenneth R. Timmerman reported: “More than half of the whopping $426.9 million Barack Obama has raised has come from small donors whose names the Obama campaign won’t disclose.

“And questions have arisen about millions more in foreign donations the Obama campaign has received that apparently have not been vetted as legitimate.”

The Prowler site asserts, as does Newsmax, that the Obama campaign is not checking to find out if a small donor’s multiple contributions exceed the FEC limit on donations to a candidate.

The analyst cited by the Prowler says Obama’s filings indicate he has received large sums of money from overseas, sometimes more than a quarter of a million dollars.

“But it’s the small donations made by credit card that need to be examined,” the analyst stated.

“After this election, after we’ve sifted through everything — if we’re allowed to sift through everything — I am confident that we are looking at perhaps the largest fine ever leveled against a national campaign entity.”
